Here’s all the wood that will be part of the base of the table, including the center insert. Notice the base is cut, the second layer is stacked on the first, and the middle insert is cut out.

Now you can glue the raceway to the baseboard. Make sure you use liberal amounts of glue, and as many clamps as possible. (I used 10)
